Here is an Update from Canada Family Action

Dear Friend,

Just to be clear, here at Canada Family Action we,

• DO NOT want to see Physician Assisted Suicide, Euthanasia, Assisted Dying, Medical Aid in Dying or any other creatively expressed form of this made legal here in Canada.

• Also, we DO NOT believe that ‘a majority of Canadians’ support physician assisted suicide (as the media is reporting).

You see this is not simply a matter of, “helping someone living in excruciating pain end their life in a dignified way” as euthanasia activists will always lead you to believe.

Pain management protocols are already established here in Canada and administered by palliative care professionals all working together to provide comfort at end of life.

What we DO NOT support is legalizing something that puts the safety and security of citizens at risk.

We therefore believe that it is more important to affirm our commitment to protect citizens when they are at their most vulnerable moments of their lives and focus on upgrading and improving palliative care services.

• The newly born,
• The mentally ill,
• The elderly,
• The homeless,
• Persons with alcohol and drug dependencies,
• Persons with disabilities, and
• People with depression

All of these people, at a time when they need our help the most, will be put at risk if physician assisted suicide is made legal.

And the argument that euthanasia and physician assisted suicide will primarily be used to alleviate a person’s pain at the end of life?  Well…the data from wherever it has been made legal does not support that argument.

Not anywhere.

That is why we are fighting hard in this battle against the legalization of Physician Assisted Suicide here in Canada.

That is why we are meeting with federal and provincial politicians.  That is why we are sending out emails, writing letters and using social media.

And that is why we are organizing a National Telephone Town Hall on this issue of Euthanasia and Physician Assisted Suicide.

We need to share the truth about what is going to happen and who is going to die here in Canada after we take this very dangerous step across the red line of what many consider to be post-birth abortion.

Contact your local MP and MLA directly and let them know you are concerned about euthanasia and physician assisted suicide being made legal.
